Today I would like to show you how to make a fabric decoration which you can pin into your hair, attach to a headband or use as a wrist corsage.
You will need:
-fabric: I used silk, but you can also use some other delicate fabric
-wires with beads, which will be used as a center of our flower
-paper glue – for example Gloss Modge Podge
-silicon cake mold- petal shape
-a piece of paper
-needle and thread
-knife or other sharp tool
-a small container
First, trace your silicon molds onto paper. Then, based on those tracings, cut out 6 petals and 5 leaves- leaves must be narrower. Finally, stain the petals with various shades of pink and leaves with green.
Place each of the petals and leaves on the silicon mold. In a small container, mix the glue with water in half to half ratio. Cover every piece of fabric with the glue mixture. To make a good impression of the mold, use a metal spatula or a knife. Press the fabric into the slots. Then wait until the fabric dry and stiff. Cut the finished forms to desirable shapes.
Connect the wires using the needle and thread. One by one, add petals to form flower. Add the leaves at the end.
In the next tutorial I will show you how I used our silk flower.
